Chevys Fresh Mex in Elk Grove

Very good. We got there before the dinner crowd rush. Service was quick, and our food was at our table after in a very short while. Waitress and staff were attentive, but did not hover. Fajitas plate came to the table sizzling, and everything was very good. Enjoyed our dinner very much.

This restaurant has really good steak tacos. It's especially good because they use the chipotle aioli sauce which tastes great with steak. This restaurant also has a nice atmosphere and plenty of different options on their menu. The beans and rice were very good and the overall experience was definitely worth the stop.

Price are good, service was fast, food, just okay.

The food was great and got to sit outside and social distance. Even got to say Hi to my favorite bartender Carrie.

Loved the fresh flour tortillas. Service excellent. Our indivudual meals were also delicious.

Jorge our server was amazing!! He had excellent customer service! My aunts first time at Chevys and he made sure it was very pleasurable experience for her ❤️

We came for happy hour, my first margarita there was no alcohol and for my sister's they made it super sweet. We complaint then second drink had a little alcohol. Drinks were watered down.

The service was better than than normal. The steak they use for Fathitas could be better quality. I love the salsa and tortillas. It's nice when they have a coupon.

I have been writing these reviews for close to a year now . Straight forwardness & keeping it real are a Hallmark of my assessment & observations regarding a given subject, businesses or otherwise. So let's get to it. My rating of ,3 stars is based on these main factors. First the general condition of the facility was tattered by age & is in need of immediate, if not sooner extensive renovation. I.e. from the. Carpet to the booths the lighting to name a few. Secondly I found the atmosphere to be mediocre & non inspiring, lacking clarity or pazzase, necessary in order to achieve a quality dinning experience for most. Let me finish by commending the food as well as the service. Spot on. Leaving one with a sense of satisfaction & delight!!

We always love Chevys! They are so patient with us and our 4 boys. The service can be a little slow on the weekends, but every server has been so nice. Definitely get the chicken flautas!

Man I love this place! Best salsa ever and it's free with some chips. Definitely try their chicken quesadilla and their table side guacamole. Their service is fast and friendly.

We gave it a second chance. The food was wet. So over spiced there was no distinction or differentiation in taste or flavor. Th food was not hot temperature wise just luke warm. And with the A/C blasting it was cold before we could eat. We had about a third of our meal. Paid our bill and left, not to return.

Nice, warm crispy chips/tortias to start, and then very tasty meal!.

Me and my wife both have the combo dishes enchilada taco and a tamale and the food just didn't seem like it used to be the refried beans had no cheese flavor the Spanish rice was bland the red sauce on my enchilada was not tasteful maybe it was a bad night for chevys the only two things that tasted good was the chips and salsa and the queso dip...

The food was amazing, the waiter very nice checked on us regularly. He made sure we always had everything we needed. He didn't shy away from my daughter and her family which includes a 5 month old.

Our large group wouldn't all fit in bar area so we grabbed reg table. Happy hour prices did not apply..disappointed. gals loved the drinks. Wait staff were great.

Service was a little slow this last visit but the food was good. Don't think I've been to this particular Chevys before, not my favorite but not bad.

Basic Mexican chain restaurant. My wife enjoyed sizzling fajitas and I had the seafood enchiladas. We also shared a deep fried ice cream. I would not hesitate to come her for Mexican inspired food, but it is not anything remarkable or particularly authentic. Just a solid option, if that is what you are in the mood to eat.

Great family friendly place. It has always been fun for us.

Hate the service last time we went. Last up front said it would be 25 minute wait for a table even though there were like a dozen tables empty outside in the patio. Asked if I could order beer while we waited, was told I could go to the bar and order it. Stood at the bar for 7 mins for someone to see what I needed. Only to be told can't order at the bar and to ask the lady up front. Right hand don't know what the left hand is doing!?Other than that, love their happy hour.

Food quality is very good and consistent. Good service and great for happy hour.

David is the best waiter ever! The food at this location is great and we are always satisfied but the five stars is really because David is such an excellent waiter. He always had our chips, salsa, and drinks filled. We never once had to ask for anything extra. He had it ready to go. Every restaurant should have a waiter as excellent as David!

I have been eating here at this chevys for over 18 years plus. It is also nice still being able to recognize some of the workers here. Love the fajita nachos love the fast service and of course your chips and salsa are clearly unmatchable.

Called in order for pick up. Great customer service and great food. Satisfied.

Good happy hour offerings & times. There's a DJ on Friday nights. The bar area packs up quickly. It's pretty busyon the weekend. The street tacos were great. I tried the Carnitas, Asada & Pollo. The greenish drink in the photo is a blended Midori Melon Margarita. Cheers to 5pm somewhere.

Fast food or food fast. When no one is there. Great spirits.

Great views. Outside seating a gamble at sunset with flies in food. Menu items not that exciting. Shrimp enchiladas bland and not much crab for price point. Won't be back soon.

We love that we found this Chevys. We are a family of six with a daughter in a wheelchair. No matter what time we get to this restaurant, the manager greets us with a warm welcome and they make sure we are sat in a very reasonable time. From the managers to the servers, we have always had good service and the food here is excellent with an endless supply of drinks and chips. The managers are always available to their customers. We come from Tracy every few weeks, it is so worth the drive. We feel like we are all family when we are there. Thanks Chevys.

A northern Cali institution!!! Famous for Fiestas, Margarita s and friendly service.... Been a customer since childhood... Only reason I gave 4 Stars instead of 5 that they have raises prices significantly.... But steal good eats and lots of fun

I got the wing appetizer they came out soggy so they were frozen and breaded and then they stuck them in the oven. Food was okay waitresses fine the thing that got me was the surcharge on your bill to help offset the cost of minimum wage increasing and for that one star if you're going to have to pass on the cost at it in your prices don't blatantly make me pay it and not tell me until the very end.

The food comes in big proportions. I just came home and oof am I stuffed! The food comes quick, and for the kids they have mock cocktails such as the mock Piña Colada. I mean, this food is great and comes quick. Plus the salsa and chips you get when you come in are absolutely great!

I ordered takeout and the order went smoothly. I go there to pick it up and no one is at the front for a while. Finally a guy walks up and he asks how many and I said it was for takeout and he said it'll be a bit. He didn't even ask me for my name which made me suspicious. After about 10 minutes I asked him if he had an update and he said he would go check on it. He just sat at the front desk organizing receipts. Another 10 minutes later this nice lady walks up and asks if I was here for takeout. I said yes, she checked and my food was UNDER THE COUNTER READY TO GO the whole time. It was very unprofessional behavior and I don't appreciate being asked to wait and being ignored while my food is 2 feet away from me getting cold. The extra star is for the nice lady that helped me at the end because the guy couldn't be asked.

We’re frequent Chevys patrons and always have great service. Today Jorge was our server and it’s guys like him that keep us coming back. He’s friendly and even noticed our oldest son wasn’t with us today. He took the time to present the seasonal specials and made suggestions. Food is great but servers and management make this Chevys special :) PS New Cinnamon shortbread CHEESECAKE is awesome!

Waited over 30-40 minutes to be seated at the cantina for happy hour to enjoy our first dine in experience during this pandemic... they ended up "trying to pass us off" in the dining area. Then seating became open in the cantina and on our way walking to that area they gave our seats to someone else!! HORRIBLE! Almost an hour of my life wasted waiting for POOR SERVICE! ended up eating and enjoying better service elsewhere!

I was in a large party of about 20 people and had the same server who was helping another large party. Our server was on top of our orders, everything came out correctly and he gave us refills when needed. I had the enchiladas and soft taco, both pretty good. Would definitely recommend.

First time coming here for happy hour. The waiter suggested the nachos and a margarita. It was very good. The nachos were a bit different from the original version on the dinner menu, but still delicious! The margarita was strong, so I had to sip it SLOWLY! The bar area was crowded and there were a fair amount of people in the dining area also. The waiter was very courteous and attentive. I left him a nice tip 🤗

Hadn't been to a chevys in over 10 years. I cant believe how bad the quality has gotten. The food is as bad as 711 food for the price of a nice restraunt. 13 dollars for guacamole. Owner must think avacodos are gold nuggets

My husband and I went on a kid free lunch date at Chevys in Elk Grove today. We have always had good service at this location but today we got Oscar as our waiter and he went far above our normal experience! He is by far the best, most inventive, spot on waiter we have EVER had at ANY restaurant we've experienced!

It's was great! Our server Oscar kept are glasses full and our chips an salsa coming. It's good when you you don't have to always flag your server down for help.. I'll most definitely will be back soon!!!

Greeter was amazing and even gave him a tip when we left as he was super nice and got us chips and salsa since are waitress was too busy talking to behind bar with friends. As to our waitress, we sat for at least 15 minutes with a 1 year old and just wanted quick bite for him to keep him busy while we ordered. She never came by even when we asked greeter to let her know we were ready. I had to go ask the manager for service. He couldn’t even write down our order and kept reciting it incorrectly. Luckily a waiter came by and was able to help. Even in the end the waitress wouldn’t even come to the other side of the cocktail area. I believe her name was Jasmine so if you’re in the cocktail area be prepared to have horrible service and maybe ask for someone else.
